The short answer
Yes, we'll come to you. FL Tax Experts prepares your tax return in your home, by appointment, across Pinellas, Hillsborough and Sarasota counties. You sit with the person doing your return, ask anything, and your original papers never leave your house.
Your return is priced the same as any other appointment: simple returns usually $150 to $300, more complex returns $300 to $600, quoted before we start. Coming to you adds a flat $25 mobile fee.

Who it's for
- Seniors who would rather not drive across town or sit in a waiting room.
- Anyone who can't easily get out: limited mobility, recovering from surgery, or caring for someone at home.
- Busy parents who can't line up a sitter for an office appointment. Ask about evening and weekend times.
- People with a box of paperwork. If your records are in drawers, folders and envelopes, it's easier for us to come to them than for you to pack them up.
- Families helping a parent. Adult children are welcome to sit in. (Your parent still reviews and signs their own return.)
- Small business owners whose records are at home or at the shop.
How a home visit works
- Call or request a visit. We'll ask a few quick questions about your situation and pick a day and time.
- Gather what you have. Use the list below. Don't worry if something is missing; we'll make a list and you can send it later.
- We sit down together. Most visits take about an hour to an hour and a half. We go through your documents with you and answer questions in plain English.
- Your price is confirmed before we start. No surprises at the end.
- With your permission, we check your IRS record. Pulling your IRS transcript shows what the IRS already has on file, so nothing gets missed.
- You review and sign. We walk you through the finished return, including what you paid in tax and why, then e-file it once you approve.
What to have ready
- Photo ID for you (and your spouse, if filing jointly)
- Last year's tax return, if you have it
- W-2s, 1099s (including 1099-R for pensions and IRAs) and your SSA-1099 for Social Security
- Form 1098 for mortgage interest, and property tax and charity records if you itemize
- Childcare costs and the provider's tax ID, if you have kids in care
- Business or side-job income and expenses, and your mileage log
- Any IRS or state letters you've received, and your IP PIN letter if the IRS sent one
- A voided check or your bank account details, if you'd like to pay or receive money by direct deposit
Keeping your information safe at home
- Your originals stay with you. We scan what we need and hand everything back before we leave.
- Nothing is left behind or taken on paper unless you ask us to.
- We never ask for your Social Security number by text or email. Anything you send later goes through our secure upload link.
- Your information is used to prepare your return. We never sell it, and we share it only with your written permission.
Where we go
We make home visits in three counties: Pinellas (St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Dunedin and the beaches), Hillsborough (Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Plant City and nearby) and Sarasota (Sarasota, Venice, North Port and nearby). The mobile fee is a flat $25 anywhere in those counties.
Live in or near The Villages? We visit on scheduled days. See tax help for The Villages. Anywhere else in Florida, we can meet by phone or video and you can upload documents securely.
Seniors 65+, veterans, servers, bartenders, gig workers and small business owners: you may qualify for 50% off your tax return if your AGI is under $75,000 ($140,000 married filing jointly), through April 15, 2027. One offer per return; we apply the one that saves you the most.
Common questions
- "Does it cost more to have you come to me?" Just a flat $25 mobile fee. Your return itself is priced the same as a video or phone appointment, and we confirm the total before we start.
- "Can my son or daughter be there?" Yes. Many people like having a family member sit in. You still review and sign your own return.
- "I'm missing a form. Should I wait?" No. Book the visit. We'll start with what you have, check your IRS record, and list anything still missing.
- "Do I need a computer or printer?" No. We bring what we need. A table and a little time is all it takes.
- "Can you help with past years too?" Yes. If you're behind, we can work out which years are missing during the same visit. See back taxes.
