How It Works
- Free review. Call or book a free Office Hours call. Tell us roughly how many years you've missed. No paperwork needed yet.
- We pull your IRS records. With your approval, we get your wage and income transcripts straight from the IRS. They show the W-2s and 1099s the IRS already has, so you don't have to dig through old boxes.
- You get a plan and a price. We tell you which years need filing, what we see, and a flat fee for each year, before any work begins.
- We file and explain. We prepare each return and walk you through it in plain English. If you owe, we'll go over your options for paying.
Why It's Worth Doing Now
- Penalties and interest on unpaid tax generally keep adding up until the returns are filed and the balance is paid.
- If you don't file, the IRS can file a return for you, called a substitute return. It usually doesn't include deductions or credits you may qualify for.
- The IRS usually asks for the last six years to be filed to be back in good standing. Most people don't need to go back further than that.
- Lenders, courts and buyers often ask for filed returns. Catching up opens doors.
Got an IRS letter about an unfiled year?
Don't ignore it. A CP59 or a notice about a substitute return isn't the end of the world. We'll read it, explain it, and tell you what to do. See our pages on CP59 notices and CP2000 notices.
Who This Is For
- People who missed a year or two and haven't known where to start
- Anyone buying a home (lenders typically want the last 2 to 3 years of returns)
- People going through a divorce or bankruptcy
- Anyone selling a business
- People who sold something, settled a case or inherited money and want to know what they owe
What It Costs
A flat rate for each year, quoted up front after your free review:
- Simple return (W-2 based): $150 to $300 per year
- Complex return (self-employed or business): $300 to $600 per year
- Three or more years together: 15% off year 3 onward (one offer per return; can't be combined with the 50% discount)
Payment plans are available. If we can't help, you pay nothing. Servers, bartenders, gig workers and veterans may qualify for 50% off.
